The Strip, in Las Vegas, one of the most colorful streets in the world is home to some of the most grandiose casinos ever. On the Strip everything is about showing off. If you are rich, you show it, if you are not, you at least pretend to be.
The famous casinos on the strip are the places where rich and poor mix, especially at the poker tables. Some high rollers sit at tables where bets are low as a warm-up, and most of the times one can only guess who they are playing against and how deep their pockets are. The common thing about all the types of people present in the casinos is the will to be seen. They all want to get noticed. Some play poker to get the money so they can be noticed, others spend a little from the lot that they have with the same purpose.
People with significant amounts of money, who are wiling to risk some of their millions of dollars, are called High Rollers or Whales. These high rollers often visit casinos like the MGM, The Venetian, Luxor, etc. just to play a little and of course receive the VIP treatment that these (and other) casinos are known to provide for such guests.
Regardless of one’s social background or material status, we can state that most people who come to play on the Strip are there for one thing: for the attention.
